I have just listened to Bon Iver, due for release on June 21, the eponymous album by the hugely talented Justin Vernon and his band and think that it will be one of the most important albums released this year, and if not important, then definitely one of the most beautiful. Below is an excerpt from what Rolling Stone had to say…

“For a self-titled LP, it sounds more like an exploration than a statement of purpose. But it’s the searchingness that makes it potent.”

Listen to it and maybe you will wonder if this is what William Golding meant by “violently searching” in the opening paragraph of Free Fall.
